Pacific Fields is an open ocean seaweed farm for the future of biofuels. A challenge of growing seaweed on the open ocean is drawing nutrient rich water from 100m below the surface and dispersing it across the vast fields. To achieve this, the vertical wind turbine pumps water through an umbilical tube and disperses it across a rotating blade. Built at 1:400 scale, the model has built in electric motors to spin the propellors.
